Blogging clearance

I was going to post information about another conference about communication today. But then I realized that my blog was getting to boring and incoherent... And now I'm going to clear this up.

I'm still very uncertain about what I want this blog to be. Even now, at the moment when I'm writing this post, I doubt whether this post fits here well or not... I'd like to remove this ambiguity that makes me feel uncomfortable with almost every post I make here.

I started this blog with an intention to gather the information that might be useful for my academic work and to practice my English vocabulary getting myself ready for my future studies.

But after a while I found it much more interesting to write here down my own thoughts and observations, which, though not very often, appear in my head.

So, I created a separate blog to rework all the material I find on the internet. Pretty regularly I post there summaries of all interesting articles about communications and media. In the sidebar "baskets" I also bring together the concepts, organizations, books, journals, persons, and web pages I am interested in.

So be it.

This blog will be my personal diary of opinions about different events pertaining to my field of study in the world and in Russia.
And the blog "Everything useful" will serve as my public notebook of articles, links, organizations, and conferences dedicated to communications and media.

And by the way, here I also have one more blog about the impressions I have of studying in America))

Hi, Julia!

Do you know the blog of an Internet expert Anton Popov dedicated to the blogging? By the way, his last entry is about how to start a blog.

You still seem very excited by the media studies and I’m passionately looking forward to your impressions from the courses at University, but tell me please whether you are afraid of being overloaded by information concerned media? I mean, could it be boring for you one day to analyze superficial waves of media, to start blogs about blogs (about blogs etc) again and again?

Hey, Arseniy,

I'm sorry for a great delay with my answer. As you could see I changed my blog name many times. I guess looking for a blog name is the same as looking for your own identity. You are asking yourself who are you? Who do you want to be for people around? And it's especially difficult when you know that potentially your blog can be seen by the whole world...

As for being overloaded by information and being disappointed by it, I believe nowadays it works the same for every discipline. Moreover, the way I'm studying media allows me to deal with all this information more easily. I'm not interested in content. Well, I am but not to a degree I'm interested in the characteristics of media themselves, in the way they may predetermine the content.

I agree with you that blogging about what other people are blogging is kind of a nonsense. So
I think, I have finished my search for identity and am going to write about media shaping our life, political life in Russia in particular.

Will be happy to see what you think about it.
